Narcissus Flycatcher (male) Ficedula narcissina

October 23, 2016

Camp John Hay, Baguio City

“I’ve chased this male bird around for the last 4 years. I was always late by a day or two on every occasion it’s been spotted. I wasn’t going to let it happen again this year. I got the female in 2012 at Makiling.” – Mike

Editor’s Note: There has been a number of sightings of Narcissus Flycatchers in different sites the past month. Aside from Baguio City, Narcissus Flycatchers have been seen in the Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area, Bangkong Kahoy Valley, Arroceros Park and Baclaran Church in Manila, and Mambukal in Negros Occidental. Keep your eyes open for more migrants!
